Razbijmo meje – tako v glavah kakor na terenu

V zadnjem mesecu smo se tudi prebivalci teh krajev neposredno srečevali z ljudmi, katerih dežele je uničevalna sla globalne kapitalistične ekonomije opustošila do te mere, da so bili v iskanju preživetja in življenja prisiljeni zapustiti svoje domove in se podati na negotovo pot preko morja, mej, bodečih žic, taborišč in policijskih kordonov. Ta srečanja sprožajo različne odzive; medtem ko nas je veliko, ki razumemo, da je težava v kapitalističnem sistemu in pripadajoči družbeni ureditvi, ki proizvaja begunce in »ilegalne ljudi«, ter jim skušamo po svojih močeh pomagati na njihovi poti, je veliko tudi takšnih, ki se predajo strahu in celo sovraštvu.

V družbi, kjer življenja večine zaznamuje negotovost, ki je rezultat opustošenja, ki ga upravljajo strankarski in drugi šefi, je zaupanje v institucionalizirano predstavništvo že davno izpuhtelo. Medtem ko nekateri odgovore iščemo v samoorganizaciji, avtonomiji, solidarnosti in enakosti, spet drugi iz strahu pred neznanim postavljajo zidove in svoje odnose s soljudmi gradijo na neizprosnem izključevanju. Ti si za izhodišče izbirajo raso ali nacijo, drugi panslavizem ali evropizem, tretji pa domoljubje – kot temelj razumevanja sveta predpostavljajo, da so nekateri ljudje vredni več od drugih. Na kompleksna vprašanja ponujajo populistične odgovore, ki nimajo vzročno-posledične zveze z realnostjo. Jasno je, da za bedno stanje v družbi niso odgovorni migranti, begunci, pregnanci, izgnanci in revni; odgovorni so vestni birokrati v palačah oblasti, odgovorne so elite in njihovi buržoazni podporniki.

Totalitarističnim idejam neonacistov – ki se zelo lepo ujemajo s siceršnjo vladavino neoliberalcev – ne bomo nasedali, ne bomo dopustili, da fašisti v preoblekah zaskrbljenih državljanov maširajo po ulicah naših mest. Zato pozivamo vse, da vedno in povsod odločno nastopimo proti vsakršnim oblikam izključevanja.

V petek, 25. 9., ob 17. uri, se dobimo na Prešernovem trgu v Ljubljani na »Festivalu odprtih meja za vse« in s tem pokažimo, da ne bomo dopustili terorja ločevanja med soljudmi na kakršni koli podlagi, kadar koli in kjer koli.

Pred dvema tednoma smo gibanja, samoorganizirane iniciative, posamezniki in posameznice napolnili ulice Ljubljane z jasnim sporočilom: Begunci dobrodošli – Refugees Welcome. Teden dni pozneje so begunci in begunke, ki bežijo pred nasiljem, dejansko prišli do Slovenije v iskanju pomoči in podpore. Na meji smo se jim aktivno pridružile samoorganizirane skupine, posamezniki in posameznice. Slovenska država in policija pa se je namesto z najavljeno solidarnostjo, izkazala z zastrašljivo stopnjo nasilja.

Bili smo na meji, pogovarjali smo se z begunci, s humanitarnimi organizacijami in večinoma neuspešno, skušali komunicirati s policijo, s slednjo večinoma neuspešno. V tako občutljivi situaciji, ko bi morala biti prva skrb dobrobit ljudi, ki so se znašli v nemogoči situaciji na meji, ni sprejemljivo, da je edini vir informacij s terena policija, edini perspektiva pa “nacionalna varnost in varovanje šengenske meje”. Tovrstna enoglasnost pogosto begunce prikazuje bodisi kot pasivne žrtve bodisi kot aktivno grožnjo, hkrati pa pogosto podpira kriminaliziranje samoorganizirane podpore prostovoljcev. Neodgovorno poročanje iz meje neposredno poganja ozračje strahu in sovraštva, ki ne samo zastruplja socialna omrežja, temveč se je tudi že začel organizirati na ulici, kar kaže najavljen shod t.i. domoljubov, ki so ga sklicale znane neofašistične skupine.

Na novinarski konferenci so se predstavile naše izkušnje z meje, s poudarkom na temnih plateh zadnjega vikenda. Govorili smo tako o agresivnem ravnanju policije kot o subtilnih tehnikah deljenja, proizvodnje nemoči in obupa. Spregovorili smo o pogumu in dostojanstvu, ki so ga v težkih pogojih izkazali begunci.

Ker hočemo opozoriti na nedopustno upravljanje države z begunci, bomo v petek, 25. septembra organizirali Festival za odprte meje. Njegov sestavni del je tridnevni cikel predavanj, ki se je včeraj v sredo 23. 9. začenja v kavarni Pritličje, nadaljeval z ulično manifestacijo, ki se bo začela ob 17. uri na Prešernovem trgu v Ljubljani, sklenil pa v soboto 26.9 ob 10h z odhodom Evropske karavane za odprte meje proti hrvaški meji.

Since past weeks a two-fold scene has been catching general attention and will mark the history of Europe. On the one hand, police or even army on EU borders are either violently and aggressively pushing back migrants and their children, that are fleeing away from poverty and wars (that often Western countries have caused or encouraged), or are trying to subject them to authoritarian registration procedures, while aiming to deny them rights allowing full and free life. On the other hand incredible persistence and courage of refugees and migrants driven by desire for freedom and great, self-organized response of grass-roots solidarity expressing that Refugees are welcomed, shape new reality on EU borders, suspending in practice the Schengen rule and Dublin Regulation, border regime often named fortress Europe.

The images that dominate the media are those of migrants in humanitarian need, while they are above all fighting for freedom of movement, resisting the border regimes, and practicing disobedience of the laws that exclude and criminalize them. On their journey to freedom and dignified life they reject to be dumped and forgotten in various detention facilities and remote refugees camps, to become permanently undocumented and illegal subjects trapped in buffer zones. They build and defend social ties and networks, that give power to cross borders and power to get inserted into societies of destination while the state is trying to individualize and isolate them. To stop such movement driven by aspiration for freedom and dignified life, national and European ruling classes are raising fences and walls on the borders, deploying massively police and military, criminalizing solidarity, suspending the rights of refugees and citizens, introducing police state. The attack on freedom of movement affects all the people living in Europe, both EU and non-EU citizens. While the attempts to stop or filter the arrival of refugees and migrants lead to violence and suffering, there are ongoing debates in several EU countries to introduce new obstacles to the freedom of movement of the same EU citizens consolidating growing inequalities and exclusion resulting from dictatorship of austerity.

It is now the time to act, supporting the movement of refugees, fighting the Europe of technocrats and austerity, and the growing of nationalism and fascism in all the European countries. It is now the time to demand a Europe without borders, of social rights, equality and dignity. For those reasons citizens should stand side by side with refugees and migrants that are neither victims nor villains, but rebels and fighters. It is time to show concrete support for the liberation struggle of refugees and migrants regardless their country of origin. Thus we believe that we must do whatever is in our power to open the borders, to construct paths, corridors and passages. For this reason we call for transnational caravan for open borders.

We are calling on all activists, collectives, affinity groups, migrant solidarity initiatives and citizens in the region and all over Europe to join the Open Borders Caravan, starting in Ljubljana on the 26th of September at 10 am, and going to the border at which migrants will be struggling for freedom of movement (depending on where the migrants will be stopped by the police or military), to build solidarity with refugees and migrants and act together for an opening of the borders.

We also invite everyone to come to Ljubljana one day before, on September 25th, to participate at festival and demonstration for open borders for everyone.

Let’s build the European Open Borders Caravan showing that Europe can be a land of rights and dignity for all despite European Institutions’ hypocrisy and xenophobic propaganda. Against EU and governments policies, fences, Frontex, deportations and quotas of relocation, our common action wants to open authorized paths for everybody’s safe arrival to desired destinations, full citizenship for all and the end of the Dublin Regulation.

Oblikujmo Evropo, odprimo meje!
Poziv na evropsko Karavano odprtih meja

V zadnjih tednih zbujata splošno pozornost dva različna prizora, ki bosta nepreklicno zaznamovala zgodovino Evrope. Na eni strani vidimo policijo ali celo vojsko na mejah EU, ki nasilno odrivata migrante/ke ter njihove otroke (medtem ko bežijo iz revščine in vojn, ki so jih v veliki meri bodisi povzročile bodisi spodbujale zahodne države) ali pa jih podrejata avtoritarnim registracijskim postopkom, katerih namen je odvzem njihovih pravic do polnega in svobodnega življenja. Na drugi strani pa neverjetna vztrajnost in pogum beguncev/k ter migrantov/k, ki jih vodi želja po svobodi in izjemen samoorganiziran odgovor samonikle solidarnosti, ki izraža dobrodošlico beguncem, oblikujejo novo realnost na mejah EU, realnost suspendiranih šengenskih postopkov in Dublinske uredbe, ki skupaj tvorijo mejni režim, poimenovan tudi trdnjava Evropa.

V medijih prevladujejo podobe migrantov/k v humanitarni stiski. Vendar pa jih moramo videti predvsem kot borce in borke za svobodo gibanja, ki se upirajo mejnim režimom in prakticirajo nepokorščino do zakonov, ki jih izključujejo in kriminalizirajo. Na svoji poti v svobodo in dostojanstveno življenje zavračajo, da bi jih odvrgli v razne centre za tujce ali odmaknjena begunska taborišča, da bi postali pozabljeni, trajno nedokumentirani in ilegalizirani ljudje, ujeti v sivih conah na obrobjih. Ti ljudje gradijo in branijo družbene vezi ter mreže, ki jim vlivajo moč za prečkanje mej in vključevanje v družbe, v katere so namenjeni, medtem ko jih skušajo oblasti individualizirati in osamiti. Da bi zaustavili to gibanje, ki ga poganja želja po svobodi in dostojanstvenem življenju, so nacionalni in evropski vladajoči razredi začeli na mejah graditi ograje in zidove, ob njih množično razvrščati policijo in vojsko, kriminalizirati solidarnost, ukinjati pravice beguncev/k in državljanov/k, uvajati policijsko državo. Napad na svobodo gibanja zadeva vse, ki živimo v Evropi, tako državljane/ke EU kot državljane/ke drugih držav. Medtem ko prizadevanja za ustavitev prihoda beguncev/k ter migrantov/k in njihovo ločevanje sprožajo nasilje in trpljenje, se v številnih državah EU odvijajo razprave o vpeljavi novih ovir svobodi gibanja tudi za državljane/ke EU, ki bodo konsolidirale naraščajoče neenakosti in izključevanje, ki so rezultat diktature varčevanja.

Zdaj je čas za ukrepanje, za podporo gibanjem beguncev/k, za boj proti Evropi tehnokratov in politik varčevanja, naraščajočim nacionalizmom in fašizmom povsod po Evropi. Zdaj je čas, da zahtevamo Evropo brez meja, Evropo socialnih pravic, enakosti in dostojanstva. Zato morajo državljani in državljanke EU stopiti ob bok beguncem/kam in migrantom/kam, ki niso ne žrtve ne hudodelci,temveč uporniki/ce in borci/ke. Čas je, da pokažemo konkretno podporo osvobodilnemu gibanju vseh beguncev/k in migrantov/k, ne glede na to, iz katere države prihajajo. Prepričani smo, da moramo narediti vse, kar je v naši moči, za odprtje mej, izgradnjo poti, koridorjev in prehodov. S tem razlogom vas pozivamo na transnacionalno Karavano za odprte meje.

Vse aktiviste/ke, kolektive, afinitetne skupine, solidarnostne pobude z migranti/kami ter državljane in državljanke v regiji in drugod po Evropi pozivamo, da se pridružijo Karavani odprtih mej, ki bo odšla iz Ljubljane 26. septembra ob 10. uri proti meji, na kateri se migranti/ke borijo za svobodo gibanja (odvisno, kje bo migrante/ke takrat ustavila policija ali vojska). Zgradili bomo solidarnost z begunci/kami in migranti/kami ter skupaj delovali za odprtje mej. Prav tako vabimo vse, da se nam pridružijo v Ljubljani dan prej, 25. septembra, na festivalu Odprte meje za vse, ki se bo začel na Prešernovem trgu ob 17h.

Sestavimo Karavano odprtih mej Evrope in pokažimo, da je Evropa lahko dežela pravic in dostojanstva za vse, ne glede na hipokrizijo evropskih institucij in ksenofobno propagando. Zoperstavimo se politikam nacionalnih in evropskih vlad, ograjam, Frontexu, deportacijam in relokacijskim kvotam. Naša skupna akcija naj odpre poti, po katerih bo vsakdo varno prispel do želenega cilja. Zahtevajmo polnopravno državljanstvo za vse in ukinitev Dublinske odredbe.

Leipzig und Wien haben es vorgemacht – von Berlin aus wollen wir es auch tun, koordiniert mit vielen internationalen Freund_innen, Genoss_innen, anderen Fluchthelfer_innen : Nicht mehr zusehen, sondern praktisch unterstützen. Solidarischen Schienenersatzverkehr organisieren!

Während von Willkommenskultur die Rede war, wurde die Abschottung der Grenzen schon vorbereitet. Die bewaffnete Bundespolizei hat die Grenze in Bayern dichtgemacht, während sich die humanitäre Katastrophe im Grenzgebieten von Serbien und Kroation, in den Lagern von Ungarn und entlang der Routen zuspitzt. Die Abschottung wird niemanden von der Flucht abhalten, aber zu mehr Not, Angst und Tod führen. Wir erfahren zur Stunde, wie wenig die warmen Willkommens-Worte der letzten Tage wert sind. Die einzige radikal humane Anwort ist: Fluchthilfe.

Schließen wir uns dem Aufstand gegen das Dublin-System an. Die letzten Wochen haben gezeigt, dass das Grenzregime ins Wanken geraten kann, wenn viele sich nicht aufhalten lassen. Die Schließung der deutschen Grenzen setzt die Abschottung in einem Dominoeffekt bis in die europäische Peripherie fort. Schaffen wir einen Dominoeffekt von Grenzüberwindung, von zivilem Ungehorsam und Menschlickeit!

Konvois aus Wien und Leizpig haben bereits hunderte Menschen auf ihrer Flucht unterstützt. #OpenBorderCaravan soll am Wochenende nun auch von Berlin abreisen. Wir werden koordiniert mit mit vielen Helfer_innen, Unterstützer_innnen und Genoss_innen aus Italien und hoffentlich auch noch weiteren Ländern aufbrechen und ankommen. Es wird ein Konvoi, eine Karawane mit dem Dringendsten, was die Menschen im Grenzgebiet von Kroation, Serbien, Slowenien und entlang der Transitrouten benötigen, sein. Und mit dem Willen, ihre Flucht nach Kräften zu erleichtern.

Von Donnerstagabend (22:00 Uhr) bis Sonntagnacht/Montagmorgen (24.9. bis 27.9.) werden wir unterwegs sein. Von Berlin gen Südosten. Der Konvoi braucht euch, eure Tatkraft und Solidarität. Wenn ihr mitkommen könnt oder ein Auto zur Verfügung stellen, tretet mit uns in Kontakt. Wir benötigen auch dringend Sachspenden: Vor allem Decken, Zelte, warme Kleidung, Schuhe.

Leipzig and Vienna showed us how to do it – in Berlin we want to follow their example. Together with many international friends, comrades and other people we will help refugees to cross the borders. Instead of only watching, we want to practically support the refugee struggles on the European borders by organizing shuttle service.

While still talking of welcoming culture, the closure of the border was already being prepared. The armed federal police closed the border in Bavaria while the humanitarian catastrophe in the border areas of Serbia and Croatia, in the camps of Hungary and along the transit routes intensified. This closed border policy inside the Fortress Europe will not stop anyone from fleeing, but will lead to even more misery, fear and death. In this moment, it becomes obvious that the warm words of welcome of these last days were of little value. Therefore, our answer can only be practical help to cross the borders!

Let us join this uprising against the Dublin system. The last weeks have shown that the border regime can shake if challenged by the the power of the masses. The closure of the German borders has unleashed a domino effect reaching the European periphery. So let us create a domino effect of border crossing, civil disobedience and humanity.

Convoys from Vienna and Leipzig have already supported hundreds of people on their flight. #OpenBorderCaravan will depart from Berlin this weekend. We will depart and arrive in coordination with supporters and comrades from Italy and hopefully many other places. It will be a convoy, a caravan, carrying things that the people in the border areas of Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and along the transit routes need most urgently – and carrying the will to to practically facilitate their flight.

We will be on the road heading from Berlin towards South-East Europe from Thursday evening (22:00) until Sunday night/ Monday morning (24.9. – 27.9.). Statement on yesterday’s developments in Obrežje

On Monday morning 21.09.2015 at 00:30 twelve volunteers were detained on the Slovenian border crossing PMP Obrežje when they were trying to pass it, after they brought material help and volunteered in the refuge camp on the border on Sunday 20.09.2015. The police officer took their documents and they were waiting for an hour before he explained to them why they are being held. He said they will all be fined for offense of ZVDM-2 law for “unjustifiably containment or movement on the border crossing”. After the explanation they were held there for additional two hours and each of them received the fine. Non of them were given the chance to explain why they were present on the border area even tough the border police directed them where they can personally deliver material goods for the refugees on Sunday. Three of the people were non Slovenian citizens whose documents were confiscated with the explanation that it is necessary to insure the implementation of the given sanctions. Two of the people were volunteering as interpreters during the day and also assisted the police to communicate with the refugees. They are not getting their documents until they pay the fine which can take a lot of time because they want to write an appeal but they do not wish to be held in Slovenia until the procedure is finished.

It is obvious that this is pressure on activist and all that are trying to help refugees that are stuck in impossible circumstances on no mans land between border crossings. This is criminalisation of self-organized people that help refugees – they are also doing self-organized actions. Supporters, like refugees, are being divided based on nationality and sex. By doing this the state is covering their own mistakes, as they are unable to react in the situation and thinking out of legal frames that are totally useless on the quickly changing terrain.

+++ Izjava za javnost ob včerajšnjem dogajanju na Obrežju +++

Meje povsod, svobode nikjer!

V ponedeljek, 21.09.2015, ob 00:30 zjutraj je dvanajst prostovoljcev prečkalo slovensko mejo PMP Obrežje po tem, ko smo v nedeljo pripeljali materialno pomoč in voluntirali v začasnem begunskem taboru na meji. Policist nam je odvzel dokumente in nas zadržal na mejnem prehodu. Po eni uri čakanja nam je obrazložil, da bo vsakemu od nas izrečena globa zaradi “neupravičenega zadrževanja oziroma gibanja na območju mejnega prehoda” (kršitev 5. točke 1. odstavka 45. člena ZVDM-2). Po obrazložitvi so nas na meji zadrževali nadaljni dve uri in vsakemu od nas je bila osebno izročena globa. Ob vročitvi glob nihče ni dobil možnosti, da obrazloži svoje zadrževanje na obmejnem področju kljub temu, da so nas v nedeljo, 20.09.2015, ko smo pripeljali materialno pomoč, sami usmerili na območje tabora, kjer jo lahko osebno izročimo. V postopku so bili prisotni tudi trije tuji državljani, ki so jim zasegli dokumente z obrazložitvijo, da je to potrebno zaradi zavarovanja izvršitve izrečene sankcije. Dokumenti jim bodo vrnjeni, ko plačajo globo, ker pa želijo podati pritožbo zoper izrečeno globo, so njihovi dokumenti zadržani na meji.

Očitno je, da gre za pritisk na aktiviste in aktivistke ter vse ostale, ki poskušajo pomagati beguncem, ki so obtičali v nemogočih razmerah na nikogaršnjem ozemlju med mejnima prehodoma. Gre za kriminalizacijo samoorganiziranih ljudi, ki nudijo pomoč beguncem (tolmačenje, humanitarna pomoč, informiranje itd.). Kakor se deli begunce po nacionalni pripadnosti in spolu, se skuša razdvojiti tudi njihove podpornike. Država s tem prikriva lastne napake, saj je nezmožna odziva na situacijo na terenu in delovati izven pravno formalnih okvirov, ki v realni, hitro spreminjajoči se situaciji, povsem odpovejo.

Memorandum from the Austrian office for asylum, intended to inform refugees with the situation and gather information about them.

“You have entered state territory illegally and your status here is of an illegal person. According to your own claims, you do not wish to ask for international protection, but rather to travel further to another EU member country. You have no accommodation or special relations within this state territory.”

The memorandum says that refugees should submit answers to the following questions in 14 days:

– For what reason have you arrived to Austria?
– What do you expect will happen if you return or are deported into your country of origin?
– Submit name, address, birth information, citizenship and status of living family (partner, parents, children, etc.) in Austria.
– Are you in any other way connected to Austria?
– How do you support yourself?
– Do you have health insurance and/or accident insurance?

The memorandum says that refugees must submit information about their current residence in 14 days. If they do not respond to the note, the procedure will continue without repeated interrogation and on the basis of evidence.

Po poročanju iz slovensko hrvaške meje slovenska policija blokira prehod meje skupini begunk in beguncev. Slovenija tako zapira mejo, tepta pravice begunk in beguncev in uvaja madžarski scenarij. Tega nikoli ne bomo dovolili. Zato pozivamo vse demokratične in solidarne sile, da se zberemo na mejnem prehodu Rigonce (Dobova) danes ob 18.00. Dajmo vladi Republike Slovenije jasno sporočilo, da je Slovenija solidarna in da ne bo nikoli mejna diktatura.

Dobimo se ob 16.00 na dvorišču Tovarne Rog (Trubarjeva) v Ljubljani.
Na meji se zbiramo med 17.00 in 18.00!

Prema izveštavanju sa slovenačko-hrvatske granice, slovenačka policija blokira prelazak granice grupi izbeglica. Slovenija tako zatvara granicu, krši prava i<beglicama i uvodi mađarski scenario. To nikada nećemo dozvoliti. Zato pozivamo sve demokratske i solidarne snage da se okupe na graničnom prelazu Rigonce (Dobova) danas u 18.00. Dajmo vladi Republike Slovenije jasnu poruku da će Slovenija pokazati solidarnost i da nikada nećemo postati granična diktatura.

Nađimo se u 16.00 u dvorištu Tovarne Rog (Trubarjeva) u Ljubljani.

Na granici se okupljamo izmedju 17.00 i 18.00!

FESTIVAL ODPRTIH MEJA ZA VSE/FESTIVAL OF OPEN BORDERS FOR ALL

Številne in številni z zaskrbljenostjo spremljamo sramoten odziv EU in njenih držav članic na begunsko krizo. Madžarska je zaprla in militarizirala mejo s Srbijo, Nemčija in Avstrija sta suspendirali schengenski sporazum in ponovno uvajata nadzor na notranjih mejah EU, odzivi Slovenskih oblasti so naravanost ogabni. Medijsko poročanje in neodgovorno ravnanje političnih elit, ki državljanom in državljankam prikrivajo odgovornost EU za begunsko krizo, hranita klimo neracionalnega strahu pred begunkami in begunci, ki poganja še nevideno poplavo ksenofobnih in rasističnih stališč, ta pa dobivajo domovinsko pravico. To situacijo želijo tudi v Sloveniji izkoristiti določene politične sile, ki brez sramu koketirajo z ideologijo nacifašizma. Takšne sile so za naslednji petek napovedale shod proti begunkam in beguncem ter za “zavarovanje meja”.

Protirasistična fronta, ki je mreža kolektivov, organizacij ter posameznikov in posameznic, ki gradijo solidarnost z begunkami in begunci, je sprejela sklep, da na nacifašističen shod odgovori z interkulturnim festivalom na še ne določenem ljubljanskem trgu. S tem festivalom želi pokazati, da je shod, ki zahteva politiko zaprtih meja, nesprejemljiv, saj so te politike odgovorne za tisoče mrtvih na mejah EU. Želi pokazati, da je naša družba mnogotera, da so kulturne razlike bogastvo in da se je treba na neutemeljene strahove, ki jih poganja nevednost, odzvati z interkulturnim dialogom. Slednji ni slep za odnose gospostva, ki so se vzpostavili skozi zgodovino kolonializma in kapitalističnega plenjenja in se reproducirajo še danes. Zavezan je skupni gradnji družbe na osnovi priznavanja razlik in resnične emancipacije vseh, pri kateri sodelujemo umetniki, kulturniki, univerzitetniki, vsi, ki z besedo, pesmijo ali plesom vsakodnevno sestavljamo mozaik interkulturne družbe.

Many of us are concerned about the shameful response of EU and its member states to the refugee crisis. Hungary closed its border with Serbia and militarized it. Germany and Austria abolished the Schengen agreement and again introduced control on the internal borders of EU. The response of the Slovenian government is irresponsible and inappropriate. Media coverage and the actions of political elites that are trying to cover up the responsibilities of the EU for the refugee crisis are fuelling the climate of irrational fear of refugees that is giving rise to yet unseen flood of xenophobic and racist standpoints. Certain political groups with nazi-fascist ideologies want to take advantage of the current situation. These same forces announced a demonstration against refugees under the name “Slovenia, protect your borders” (“Slovenija zavaruj meje”) on Friday, 25th of September 2015.

Antiracist front, which is a network of collectives, organizations and individuals, is building solidarity with refugees and decided to react to the coming nazi-fascist demonstration with a festival for open borders for all. Through this, we want to show that a demonstration, calling for closed borders, is unacceptable since closed borders are responsible for thousands of dead refugees on the borders of EU. Our society is diverse and cultural differences enrich and empower us. We will answer the irrational fear that is fuelling ignorance and bigotry with intercultural dialogue. The latter does not ignore relations of domination that were established through colonial history and capitalist devastation and which are still reproduced today. Intercultural dialogue is a call for a society of the common, a society based on acknowledgment of differences and real emancipation of everyone.

CALL OUT FOR AN EMERGENCY SOLIDARITY ACTION AT THE SERBIAN-HUNGARIAN BORDER

Since yesterday, when Hungary attempted to close its borders, by
bringing army and heavy police force at the newly built fence, and the
new law criminalising migrants has stepped into force, up to 5000
migrants have been stuck at the border. The point at which most people
have been stuck is the border crossing Horgoš 2 (exact location:
https://www.google.rs/…/@46.175929,…/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0
) — but the locations might change, or multiply.

The situation is very difficult: there is not enough food, water,
clothes, medicine or shelters. People are sleeping on the bare ground,
there is no place to use the toilet or maintain basic hygIene. There are
many people, including women and small children, and new people keep on
arriving all the time. On the Hungarian side, there is the army and
police, with the usual gear of police-dogs, pepper-spray etc.

The situation is very tense, but despite the difficult conditions, the
atmosphere is one of resistance and protest. Some migrants have been on
a dry hunger strike, refusing all food and water until the border is
opened.

**This is a call out to all activists, for an emergency intervention at
the border – we need people to show solidarity with those stuck at the
Horgoš 2 border crossing. Bring along any food, water, basic medicine,
warm clothes or tents, but above all, physical presence of
self-organised affinity groups is needed! A sounds system and as many
megaphones as possible are really needed, for communication in a big
group of people.**

In addition, any trusted information about the developments elsewhere
(such as what is happening on the Serbian-Croatian and
Croatian-Slovenian borders) is also important, as coordinated solidarity
efforts on various points of the route could be crucial. If you do not
have the possibility to come to Horgoš, it would be great if you could
get reliable information about what is happening on the
Serbia-Croatia-Slovenia route, so we can share this with the people on
the Horgoš 2 border crossing.
